The Northport Field Hockey Booster Club was created in 2006. Our mission is to provide support to our high school and middle school teams as well as the junior travel league.
For the high school players, we host the annual Kick Off Breakfast for both the Varsity and JV Teams, provide equipment as needed, secure practice and game time at Veterans Park turf field, sponsor an annual Play For A Cure game, arrange for team Camps and Clinics, and host the End of Season Awards Dinner. In past years we have assisted with the purchase of 2 goal cages and a score board for the high school field.
For the middle school players, we provide instruction for those players making the transition from junior travel league to the middle school, partner with the district for the summer camp, assist with equipment when needed and visit each school’s last game to welcome 8th graders to the next level of play.
For grades 3-6, we partner with the Northport Field Hockey Junior Travel League to provide training to new players, assist with practices and games and have the high school girls mentor the younger players to continue to grow the passion for this amazing sport. In 2015 we shared the cost to purchase 2 additional new goal cages.
Membership is a yearly fee payable beginning when the athlete joins JV or Varsity at the high school level. Membership is optional, but we strongly encourage participation so that we may continue to provide support to the girls, host our various events, and maintain the field hockey family spirit! Donations from younger players are also welcomed at any time.
